Frederick County Public Schools showcases PhoneTop K-12 applications at NSBA 2002 T+L Conference.

XML Applications used to Increase End-User Productivity on Cisco Systems IP Telephones
VIENNA, Virginia AAC Inc., a leading provider of network engineering, convergence technologies, and information assurance solutions, today announced that one of its customers, Frederick County Public Schools, Cisco is showcasing AAC’s XML applications at the National School Boards Association’s 16th Annual Technology + Learning Conference.
The NSBA T+L Conference is being held in Dallas, Texas from 13 through 15 November 2002. Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) is providing a technology lecture entitled "Using Handheld Computers and IP Telephones in the Classroom."
Frederick County Public Schools (Virginia) piloted a program with selected fifth grade students using PDA's. This display will focus on content integration in elementary classrooms with technology. A variety of curricular software and integrated lessons used to meet Virginia Standards of Learning will be demonstrated. The PDA has provided efficient and affordable ways to teach and learn while providing opportunities to address equity and access to technological resources for students and teachers. Schools in Frederick County are also beginning to use IP telephones in the classroom for security and administrative tasks such as attendance reporting.
